Transit Media was founded with the needs of independent filmmakers and distributors in mind.

We have evolved from shipping 35MM to 16 MM films to Beta, VHS and now DVD. Who knows what is on the horizon, whatever it is, Transit Media will deliver it. Our goal is to provide first-rate fulfillment to distributors so they can spend their time creating more educational tools. With the development of this web site, our new goal is to put the educational films directly into the hands of the purchasers. This is the one web site for buyers of educational media to visit to meet all of the educational purchasing needs.

Transit Media is a family owned and operated full service fulfillment company. We supply fulfillment for over 100 small and large distributors, as well as independent filmmakers. Transit Media has been in operation for over 30 years and has been run by the Ampel family for over 20 years. We are located in Harriman NY, which is about 50 miles north of Manhattan.

Transit Media is run by Bernard & Sophie Ampel, their daughter Karen and her husband James Knox. Transit Media is a 'hands on' family owned business that gives you the personalized attention that you deserve.
